A true hedonist is a man who loves traveling, having fun, and experiencing all the beauties of this world. Wherever you go, there is something unique and amazing to see and something fun to do. However, if you’d like to experience a bit of everything in one place, then you should visit New York. From the cuisine to the art scene, it has something for everybody. It’s safe to say that if you are a hedonist, visiting the Big Apple should definitely be on your bucket list – and here are some of the reasons why.
Performing Arts
Whether you’re into sophisticated plays or loud concerts, you can find all kinds of performances in New York. The Slipper Room, for example, is a place where you never know what you’ll walk into as there is a new performance every week; you could enjoy a night of stand-up comedy, or you could watch a burlesque group do their dance routine. Just come a bit early if you want to get good seats.
On the other hand, if you’re into something a bit more modern, and you love dancing, check out Joyce Theater. It is a dance institution founded over 30 years ago, and it offers an array of modern dance acts with troupes from all over the world taking over the stage.
Bars
New York has plenty of nice bars serving everything from simple beer to extravagant cocktails, so it’s safe to say that the fantastic mixology in NYC is quite trendy and innovative. For instance, The Blond is a place that is all about style and pleasure. With the low lighting, art-lined walls, arched windows, and cascades of fabric, you are bound to enjoy this bar. The décor is all about curves and soft edges, which makes drinking in this bar a truly unique experience.
Or, if you’re looking for something simpler and you love wine, check out Ardesia. It is a chic neighbourhood bar in Hell’s Kitchen that offers over 30 wines by the glass and almost as many wines by the bottle. Moreover, there is a patio outside the bar where locals like to soak up the sun and chat while enjoying their wine. The bar also offers a wide variety of artisan cheeses to go with your wine, as well as sandwiches, salads, and bar snacks that are almost as delicious as their wines. So, if you crave some wine with a nice snack, make sure to visit Ardesia.
Shopping
If shopping is your passion, New York is the place to be. Opening Ceremony is a store where fashion, art, and traveling mix, which leads to an atmosphere of flair, style, and drama. It was founded in 2002, and it got its name from the Olympics. They focus on a new country every year, showing the best it has on offer.
However, most of the things in the store are local, and they sell womenswear, books, and shoes. Oak is another store worth visiting as it has the best collection of jeans in the city. It is a bit more urban than Opening Ceremony, so if you’re interested in something a bit “cooler”, make sure to visit this store.
Food
If you consider yourself to be a foodie as well, you will love dining in New York. Prime Meats, for example, is a perfect place if you prefer to have some nice meat on your plate. They serve only the highest quality meats, and the Alpine influence can be seen in the menu choices – there is a wide variety of porky delights, from bratwurst to pork schnitzel. They also make their sausages, which you can enjoy with their homemade pretzels.

Visit New York for Hedonists
The City of New York is a true paradise for all hedonists. It has everything from great food to beautiful performance centres. With that in mind, whether you want to visit New York so you can shop, or you want to try some of the finest drinks, it is a city that will not leave you disappointed.
